Lots of videos of Chromatic Harmonica playing. A little bit of Diatonic Harmonica and Melodica. Check out my own website for more videos at http://www.12FREEMUSIC.com
I am a regular guy who enjoys playing the harmonica over recorded music, I don't know any musician and have only played a few times with live musicians, but I'd like very much to try to create "something" online with other amateur musicians like me.
Ever since I started recording myself and uploading on the web, I get asked the same questions often, so here are some answers before you even bother asking me:
----
- I play Chromatic Harmonica, the one I currently use is a Hohner, model Chrometta 14 holes in key of C. I find it the best because it is relatively cheap for a chromatic (around 60$) and it is very easy to play (holes are soft on the lips) and has a nice sound (one that I like anyway) and as a bonus it has 14 holes which can come handy when I want to vary a little bit and try to sound very low and very high in a same song.
----
- As for the software I know which can help anyone to learn Harmonica, I will simply give you three ideas:
1. A software generating harmonica tabs from midi files, can be useful: http://www.harpingmidi.com
2. Band in a Box is a nice software for any musicians, you could try to hunt for it: http://www.bandinabox.com
3. The most complete online resource on the Chromatic has been made a few years ago and updated ever since by a guy from New Zealand:
http://www.angelfire.com/music /HarpOn/
There also http://www.slidemeister.com the best online community for chromatic harmonica.
----
- I make my videos with a JVC camcorder with 20GB HDD, so I put it on and I record myself for many minutes then just edit the worse parts with a video editing software that came with the camcorder "Cyberlink PowerDirector", but before I was using Windows Movie Maker.
